Des Moines Concert Handbells

About

Des Moines Concert Handbells is an advanced community handbell ensemble with ringers from around Central Iowa, endeavoring to be inspiring to the community.  We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the goal to promote awareness of the art of handbell ringing in the Des Moines community. The group aims to inspire and educate audiences, and allow members to attain musical excellence by sharing our musical knowledge and abilities while performing challenging handbell literature in a variety of musical styles.  We were founded in 2017 and play with 5 ½ octaves of Schulmerich bells, 6 octaves of Malmark choir chimes, and almost 2 octaves of Schulmerich silver melody bells.  We also have a smaller group that performs for public and private events.
